ChildCareEd is an Approved Training Organization with the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD). Courses may be used for both informal and formal training hours for those who work in child care centers, part-day children’s programs, school-age programs, summer day camps, family child care homes, large family child care homes, and residential child care facilities. This includes clock hours for directors, program directors, administrators, social services staff, child care staff, teachers, master teachers, lead teachers, assistant teachers, primary caregivers, permanent substitutes, and volunteers. 

Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder: 

Prior to or within 12 months of employment, teaching personnel must obtain and maintain a current Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder (OPDL) certificate. ChildCareEd courses are accepted towards the clock-hour requirements to obtain and renew your Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder level.

• Complete 12 clock hours of training to obtain level 1 on the career ladder. Complete 12 clock hours annually to renew level 1.
• Complete 60 clock hours of training to obtain level 2 on the career ladder. 
• Renew levels 2 through 11 by completing 20 clock hours of annual renewal training.
• Receive a CDA Credential to obtain level 5 on the career ladder.

• Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 
• Prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and Use of Safe Sleep Practices
• Administration of Medicine 
• Prevention of and response to allergic reactions 
• Building and Physical Premises Safety 
• Shaken Baby Syndrome 
• Responding to Emergencies 
• Handling and Storage of Hazardous Materials
• Appropriate Precautions in Transportation of Children
• Abuse and Neglect: Signs and Reporting
• Food Preparation and Nutrition
• First Aid & CPR Blended

Director training requirements:

• Bronze level, Oklahoma Director's Credential.
• The director obtains at least the required number of professional development clock hours to maintain a current Oklahoma Director's Credential.

Master Teacher training requirements:

• Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder of Level 4 or higher

Family Child Care Homes Caregiver training requirements:

• Level 1 or higher Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder (OPDL) certificate

Annual Professional Development training requirements:

• Teaching personnel obtain at least the required number of professional development clock-hours to maintain a current Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder (OPDL) certificate.

CECPD Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR):

ChildCareEd approved courses can be found on the CECPD Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR). Users may purchase approved courses through the ChildCareEd website. For Registry credit, please add your Registry ID number to your ChildCareEd account. Attendance data will be uploaded weekly to the Registry. Please allow a minimum of 5 business days for your completed course to appear on your Registry account.

• Instructor-Led: Unlimited online training, plus all CDA online training courses, and one Virtual Class each month led by a trained Educational Specialist
