ChildCareEd is approved through the California Early Care and Education Workforce Registry. Courses may be used to fulfill annual training requirements and to obtain a CDA Credential. The following are the education and training requirements for providers in California.
Directors, child care center providers, and family child care home providers need to obtain a Child Development Permit issued by the Commission of Teacher Credentialing.
Levels of the Child Development Permit:
ChildCareEd offers the 120 hours of CDA training needed to obtain a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential qualifies you for the Child Development Associate Teacher Permit and may also be used as nine-semester units of credit toward the overall 24-semester unit requirement for the other Child Development Permits.
All ChildCareEd courses can be used toward renewing a Child Development Permit with prior approval from your professional growth advisor.
