Description: The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has updated its recommendations for #safe_sleep practices for infants and toddlers to reduce the risk of sleep-related deaths. The updated guidelines include placing #infants on their backs to sleep, using a firm and flat sleep surface, and avoiding soft bedding and loose objects in the sleep area. In addition, the AAP recommends breastfeeding and vaccination to further reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (#SIDS) and other sleep-related deaths in infants and toddlers. This resource, developed by AAP and distributed by MSDE, is to provide #childcare teachers and providers guidelines to ensure safe sleep in infants and toddlers.
