According to the CDC, breastfeeding is the best source of nutrition for most infants. Some of the benefits that children have from being breastfed are having a reduced risk of asthma, obesity, type 1 diabetes, severe lower respiratory disease, ear infections, SIDS, and gastrointestinal infections. It can also reduce the risk for certain health conditions mothers such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, ovarian cancer, and breast cancer. Most mothers want to breastfeed but stop early due to a lack of ongoing support. Certain factors make the difference in whether and how long infants are breastfed.
We here at H&H Child Care Training know and understand the benefits of breastfeeding and developed online breastfeeding courses to help programs on supporting mothers who want to continue to breastfeed their infants. Our Supporting Breastfeeding Practice in Child Care will help programs better understand the benefits of breastfeeding and how to support mothers who want to continue breastfeeding their children after returning to work or school. In addition, this course will guide learners on the proper handling, storing, and feeding techniques for breast milk.
