Get Ready for Summer!
Summertime is an opportunity for children to try new things, make new friends, and learn new skills. Children who attend summer camps tend to do better academically than those who don't. They also tend to make more friends and develop stronger social skills.
Create Art
If you are looking for something creative for children to do this summer consider creating art! Start with simple art projects such as painting, drawing, and coloring. Then try some more advanced projects such as clay sculpting, pottery, and jewelry making.
Take a Nature Walk
Teach children about different plants and insects with a hands-on activity like walking in nature. Children's learning is accelerated when they are able to experience hands-on learning. While on your nature walk look for birds and other local animals. Learning about things in their own community strengthens children's engagement!
