It is finally your day off! You sit on your couch and turn on the TV to start your favorite show with a nice big bowl of popcorn beside you. You grab a handful of warm buttery popcorn and start to take in the deliciousness when suddenly, you feel a hard kernel mixed in. Next thing you know you are spitting out a piece of a tooth! You immediately call an emergency dentist that can see you within the hour. As you sit in the dentist's chair explaining what happened while holding the remnants of your whole tooth, the dentist states “oh, don’t worry. I’ve done about five hours of training on repairing teeth, so I should be ok to do this procedure”. Horrified, you quietly tell yourself that this is fine, and they know what they are doing, as the dentist is Googling “how to repair a cracked tooth” on their phone.
Although an extreme example, the importance of professional training is not understated. Each profession requires a certain amount of annual training to maintain or increase a worker’s knowledge. Childcare professionals are no exception to this rule. Each state has its own annual requirements for Child Care teachers, which can be found on the state department’s websites. Annual childcare trainings can include (but is not limited to) basic health and safety, child abuse and neglect, nutrition, and child development. H&H Childcare Training offers a wide variety of childcare trainings to help educators maintain their annual training requirements.
