The need for afterschool programs in our country is far greater than the amount of programs available. Creating quality afterschool programs will meet the huge need for safe and secure places for children to go to after school. Teachers in afterschool programs who want to create engaging and relevant content while addressing the needs of all learners, need to have knowledge of best practices in content development and differentiated instruction. In this 3-hour in-class/Zoom training, participants will gain valuable strategies to add to their teaching repertoire. Participants will learn key elements in developing curriculum content for school agers, identify learning styles and learn strategies to adjust instruction for different learning styles. Participants will also be able to identify the benefits of field trip planning, create a permission slip, and identify community resources to aid in field trips and project funding. New teachers will gain valuable information to use in the design of their afterschool programs.
