Course description:
To meet state and federal requirements of the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG), all child care providers must successfully complete a basic health and safety training. This comprehensive course ensures that providers are equipped with essential knowledge and skills to maintain a safe and healthy environment for children in their care.

This course fulfills the required Basic Health and Safety Training for all staff, substitutes, and adults responsible for the care and safety of children in a licensed child care program.
This course has been approved by MSDE Early Childhood Division, approval number CKO-380. Subject Area 3 HSN.
If it has been more than one year since you have completed an approved Basic Health and Safety training, you will need to complete MSDE's 90-minute annual online update. This training can be found on the MSDE website or by clicking here.

Zoom protocol: Students must keep cameras on and must have audio and microphone accessible.
Zoom etiquette: Participation is required! Prior to the meeting, ensure the video and audio are working on your computer.
Video should remain on throughout the session. You will need to unmute your microphone when you share ideas, comments and ask questions. The chat feature will also be utilized during the meeting.
During class times, be prepared by being in a setting that allows you to focus and fully participate. This should be a quiet space where you can dedicate your full attention to the training.
This training is done from your home using a link provided to each student via email.

Requirements and Expectations of Students:
Equipment: Laptop or Desktop Computer with Google Chrome browser and Zoom.
