Make your own Moon Sand! - post

Made with just a few simple ingredients like flour and baby oil, the moon sand has a unique texture that is both crumbly and sculptable, allowing kids to create shapes, build structures, or simply enjoy the tactile experience. Not only is it a fun and calming hands-on activity, but it also encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and exploration of textures, all while sparking curiosity about science and the wonders of space. 

What you'll need: 

• 8 Cups All purpose flour
• 1 cup Baby oil
• Mixing bowl
• Wooden Spoon 
• Play doh molds
• Sensory Bin
• Airtight container to store sand in

Directions: 

• Add 8 cups of flour to a large bowl
• Add 1 cup of baby oil to flour 
• Mix well!
• Enjoy! 

Notes:

• Use hands to knead sand together and combine all flour with the oil. 
• Youll will know when it is mixed together well enough when the texture is soft but moldable
• You can add color by using gel or powered food coloring by adding to the oil BEFORE you combine with flour
